Born in the bohemian heart of Cardiff's night life, the Klezmer Kollectiv bring a refreshingly different sound to the music scene of the Welsh Capital. This slick, eight piece instrumental combo have become known across Wales and the South-West for their ultra-tight live sound, and foot-stomping Balkan rhythms. Highlights from the past year have included playing for the stars at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition Preview Party, an interview and studio performance on BBC Radio Wales and a sell out performance at this years Welsh Proms at St David's Hall.

Hello!

This is my first blog ever!

This weekend (8th & 9th) we played at the Small Nations Festival in Wales which was good fun and we also had a great gig in Cardiff as part of The Welsh Proms. We sold about 200 tickets and it was great to see so many people wanting to listen to us so if you're reading this and you went to Cardiff to see us - thanks!

Check out a couple of highlights and audience feedback from the gig by clicking here:

This week we have a very prestigious (but private) gig at The Wallace Collection in London and also a public gig on Saturday (16th) as we return to The Royal Academy of Art also in London to play music between 12 and 4pm.

If you're not already, find and follow us on Facebook or Twitter (@KKollectiv)

Summer of Klezmer

The Kollectiv have a busy Summer coming up in 2011. Next week is our gig as part of the Cheltenham Festival at TOAST's store off the Promenade. Then we're back to Wales for the Small Nations Festival in Llandovery on the 8th July followed by our Welsh Prom at St David's Hall in Cardiff on the 9th.

Then we're back to London on the 16th July to play at the Royal Academy of Arts for an exhibition of Hungarian photography in the early afternoon, and that's just the beginning...

Check back for more updates over the Summer on where you can hear the Kollectiv next.
